Hi, all. This would be the 3rd annual Vegas Meet, which is geared towards IndieClub and Sanctuary members - that's right, you! It will be held on:
Fri - Sun, May 26th - 28th (Memorial Day weekend)
Like past meets, I can put up 6 to 8 out-of-state people, which makes it kind of a fun slumber party for networking filmmakers. Typically, we stay up late! Here are pictures of last year's meet:
INDIEMEET 2005
The weekend agenda will include Sheila's fabulous hors d' Oeuvres and be similar to last year's.
Friday 6:00pm - dawn! Meet and greet, snacks, bonfire and late night short movies.
Saturday 2:00 - 8:00pm - demos, presentations and pizza. 8:00pm indie feature premiere or two... or three. Of course, the bonfire.
Sunday - attend a summer blockbuster movie, followed by a barbecue or pool party.
As usual, we'll need some presenters. A presentation should be less than 20 minutes. Subjects can be anything having to do with movies. It can be something that you are studying or you can use examples from your own movie or project and discuss how you achieved certain lighting, scene techniques, effects, etc. Some ideas are listed here:
make blood,
make squibs,
light a scene,
record audio,
score music,
handle greenscreen,
load a camera,
handle blank/airsoft weapons,
block a fight or stunt,
achieve certain editing techniques,
write for movies,
avoid law & copyright issues,
perform a special talent?
Bring your best short film (on DVD or tape) and we'll have a showing. Last year, JP Nickel's GRIM was a hit.
2005's indie feature premiere was the horror/western, THE SHUNNED, directed by Chris Downs. This year the premiere feature is Christian Viel's RECON 2020, an award winning sci-fi/action movie. Of course, I'll probably sneak THE AWAKENING in for the late night crowd.
Let me know what you think. _________________ terrariumthemovie.com

Hey, Tracy! Hell, yeah, I've got space for you, but it might be the motorhome. Is that alright? If you look at this same thread, on IndieClub, Christian and his woman snuck in and grabbed the other bedroom:

I'm going to hit up Kelly for his spare room, too. I'm sure there will be more out of towners... Hey, TS or any of you other Vegas people! If you have a spare room, let us know. _________________ terrariumthemovie.com |

Of course I sooooo want to go and was finally serious and able to possibly go but it had to land on a weekend I can't. That is the Open Season Invitational for our swim team. Damn the luck May 20th every year pretty much starts our run of booked weekends through to January...lol so maybe someday I'll be able to make this...put me down for the 10 year anniversary _________________ John C.
