Yeah Dana, I want to get out there as well...
if not for the meet, just to drop in on Conway unexpectedly.
Gotta meet this guy already.

Nice re-cap Mike...

So when is the next one scheduled to take place? I want to be there...

I thought it was funny to watch McClure dodge the camera. Laughing

Very Cool Mike!! Cool

(except the part where that old guy tries to dodge the camera, LOL)

Thanks for another great meet! and looking forward to next year Smile

LW, DT, you guys can always head out with me when we shoot Mike's scene (Jimmy the Bum) for Stoned Sober. Got any experience in building a 2-story cardboard house?

Yes, this indie meet was such a great time!! All who didn't go, really missed out on an amazing time!
If you didn't go, you have to go next year!! I'm refreshed and relaxed from a weekend at the indie meet and am back to work on Mario's movie full force...

Hey, can I head over there when you shoot that scene with Mike????

Well that's nice - all I did was sweat it out in front of the friggin computer. LOL.

Looks like a great time. Really bummed I missed it. I want to be able to meet you folks some day. It's refreshing knowing that there's people who really take their filmmaking seriously and it's all about the film and having fun doin it.

Finally got a few minutes to watch this...
looks like it was a blast.
Damn...that's like, strike three or something for me.

Mike,
special thanks for tormenting McClure with the cameras.
So glad to see that when I'm not around to do it, someone's picking up the slack in that area, thanks!
I owe ya!

LOL.

Hang in there,

LWAddict

Very Kool. Neat to see Barry Green was there, was wondering if he would show since he is currently in your neck of the woods. (Speaking of Barry since you did use the DVX on The Awakening, how come you have not pimped it out over there on dvxuser.com)? McClure sounds a bit like me, camera shy. Other than that I don't have 14 kids (does he really)?, I have a few more pounds, and my hair is not that gray.... yet. Razz Hopefully I can show at the next one... I'd love to meet all you guys in person.

I think Barry has been to all 3 IndieMeets. He's a great speaker. I've also worked on several jobs with Barry, either being hired directly by him or through Paul Folger (Inov8 Video Productions), who does a lot of production for Station Casinos.

As far as dvxuser.com, I do read the posts, every so often. I really should post, but I'm more about the whole production process, so I get my creative discussion fix here and at IndieClub. I prefer talking about movies, rather than at a forum about one particular piece of equipment. (However, the DVX and HVX are very, very interesting!) You won't see me on Lighting, Sound or Recording forums, either. The only equipment forums I go to are hardware synth forums.

Since it's most likely my next purchase, I am doing some research on the HVX200, so I've been lurking on dvxuser to hear about shooter's experiences with that. Plus, dvxuser has other camera brand categories, so I'm taking comparitive notes. I want the HVX!!! Don't be surprised, if I start posting...

So far, every Vegas Meet has been held at the end of May. That way, we usually fit in a summer blockbuster and the pool. (We saw X-3, this year.)

Eric, you would have liked it, at least for Michael(Rainbow Warrior) Damon's scoring demo and Tim's company. Oh, I probably would have let you play in my keyboard room. Very Happy Ironically, we had enough going on, that we weren't in there, much.

Eric, Mike's keyboard room is... shall we say, fairly impressive.

Mike, if it wasn't for you, and everyone else that attends these events, I wouldn't subject myself to that photographic torture Evil or Very Mad

Wow I never realized Barry Green was so young. I guess I just pictured him as this 65 year old guy with a big beer belly and a big grey beard. Kind of like the Santa Claus of the video world or something.

Looks like you guys had fun. Very cool.
