Welp folks! Here we go again.

I have an actor in L.A. who has been wanting to work with me on a short project and over the last few years we haven't been able to hook up on anything. He had been wanting to do an Indiana Jones project for some time. So with the current events (Indiana Jones 4 coming out) and an actor and producer who is absolutely hard core fans, I decided to take it on.

The basic story is similar to an opening of a Jones film. We have him being chased down a hill by a team of horsemen. Imagine the opening of Raiders with Indy being chased by the indians. They chase him to a rivers edge where he is pinned in by a 50+' cliff down to the water. Yeap he cliff dives into the river. From there he takes a fun rapid ride down the river and finally enters calmer waters. Exiting the water he is confronted by the rich, ego, wannabe explorer businessman who wants his find. A fight ensues with the henchmen only for Indy to loose the artifact to the businessman....or does he?

You'll have to see the film. I am putting this thread to chronicle the production like I normally do, but also to put a call out for any help or for anyone who would like to watch. The dates are not locked as of this time....were looking at either October 12th & 13th or October 19th & 20th. It will be 2 FULL days of work out on location in Oakdale, Ca. along the Stanislaus river. I am looking for a Script Supervisor, someone to shoot B-T-S (McClure has mentioned he might like this spot) and especially any hands that can help. Cable wrangling, crew/grip, etc.

The production value on this is very high. We have some amazing locations, as well as a full arsenal of equipment. Including shooting 2 camera HD. So the likelihood of assistants in alot of areas will be open. I have included a few pics the actor took in full garb. Also a shot of one of the areas we will be in out at Knights Ferry CA. where the cliff jump will take place. So come join the fun or stay tuned for more info.

Thanks you for your time....

An older picture of the location but the perfect spot where the jump takes place. I'll get on looking down next week when the actor comes up for rehearsals.

Marc looking good. Facial hair and haircut will be taken care of to give him the gruff late 30's look.

My Indy looking good Very Happy

Wow, the pictures look awesome! I love the Indy outfit, and it looks like you've got a good actor to play the role. Can't wait to see this.

Ditto what Western said! Looks like you're cooking up another good one. Very Happy

I don't think the shoot date is gonna work out for me... but if it changes I will be there if at all possible!

Ok so as promised I went out to the locations with the actor this past weekend just to give him a feel for the place and run through what he will be doing. I threw together 2 quick videos to share. I will have some stills as well soon. So stay tuned.

Video #1 is our cliff jumping and through the rapids scenes.

Video #2 is the lead up to the ending along the rivers edge and the fight sequence that takes place in and out of the water.

Enjoy!

Ok so we have locked the dates. The only downside is that we moved it up but since our preperation has already been underway it really isn't going to affect the production any. So the dates are as followes:

October 5th (Friday) 6/7am-6pm
October 6th (Saturday) 6/7am-Noon
October 7th (Sunday) Noon-6pm

The big day is Friday but Saturday and Sunday should be nice and lite yet fun. So if I can get n idea of who and when anyone can help or be there I would appreciate it.

Friday's a bust.
but...I may be able to show up Sat or Sun, not sure which or if both yet.

Alright to bring our trainee Matthew along?
The more set exposure I can get this kid the better.

Knight's Ferry...that's just off the main road right?
Small grill/cafe right there too right?

Yeah Friday is difficult for must at this short notice. Yes it's cool to bring Matthew along. Yes Knight's Ferry is right off the highway by the diner...however since you are not coming Friday we wont be in Knights Ferry Sat. & Sun. We will be off a road called Orange Blossom which you took to go out to my last shoot. But this time you are going to a place called Horseshoe Recreational Area which is between the Horseshoe roads off of Orange Blossom. But I will provide contact and directions once we get closer.

Hmmm...this orange place sounds much closer that Knight's Ferry, if memory serves me (gawd I gotta get out more).

Get maps to us John.

McClure, I'll talk to Nanci tonite to see if we can't lock this down. But I know she'll be excited to have you over bro.

And thanks John, I know Matt would love to check this out.

Only other things going on around here that weekend is the...uh...well...Shockerfest.
Decisions...decisions...John's shoot...Shockerfest...
hot, sweaty, dirty, boonie shoot...Shockerfest...
rednecks, film people, icky sticky bushes...Shockerfest...
health problems, starvations, thirst...Shockerfest...
liver failure, off brand smokes, cheap no name colas...Shockerfest...

Sorry John.
After careful consideration...
I'm afraid that there's a better than average chance that
I'll be at your shoot with Matt and McClure.
Just gotta make sure the calendar is clear
(man talk for "get the wife's approval")

Hang in there,

LW
