Dear Mike, Shiela, Kids, Mom-In-Law, and Ash... you are a first class indie family! A BIG thank you for letting me stay with you this weekend. It was great to meet so many cool people like the Stovers, and Mario and his Arizona bunch, and Tiffany, as well as getting to see Heather again and to meet her husband, and the the sweet knitting lady and her interesting ex-coroner other half... and everybody else (too many to remember).
Aside from Sheila's great cooking and famous cookies, I really enjoyed the line up of events. The demos were very informative, especially Mike's explaination of how the camera POV can tell a story, and Mario's blood and gore tricks.
What I saw of Exile looks awesome and the trailer for It Envies the Living shows a lot of promise... can't wait to see how both of those turn out. Only got to see see part of The Rapture because I was busy visiting, but I thought it was very impressive.
Got home late last night, tired but content. Well done, Mike and Sheila! Thanks again!
p.s. That was some campfire! |

LOL Whoa Nelly!
You missed out bro!
As soon as we arrived, Mike opened the door and punched me in the nose. Then he had the nerve to sick his mangy mutt on me. The entire time his dog was chewing on my leg, all I could think about was: "We drove 8 hrs. for this?!"
No seriously, we had a blast but I'll let Mike share all the details first. I don't want to steal the guy's thunder... |

We had a great time!
Thanks Mike and Sheila for the hospitality and good times! Very cool
It was awesome meeting everyone... Mario, it had been a long time talking about it, but we finally met, very cool! Just wish we could have had more time talking, but I'm sure there will be other times.
And people, don't let Mario's sense of online humor fool you... he is a cool person.
Tiffany, it was cool meeting you and would be good to work on a project together someday.
Although I'm usually lurking in the shadows it was nice hanging out with everyone... Bee, Tim and Terry, the Vegasland guys, other Vegas locals, The Tuscon Musketeers, et al... A very good time!
Johnny, I missed getting a copy of The Rapture on that raffle bummer for me, but good for you since I'll be purchasing a copy _________________ http://www.americanmovieworks.com

Hey!
Just because we showed up with a giant feathers hanging hangin out of our ears and swords sticking out of our asses, doesn't make us Musketeers! JK
Seriously though,
I want to thank Mike & Sheila Conway for putting on a great Indie Meet!! True, genuine, hospitality from these two all the way. Everyone was a thrill to meet and greet! Mike shared his skills & creativity with all and this was extremely entertaining to me. I could listen to Mike on those keyboards for hours. Sheila. . . Awesome Food! Thank you for making me feel welcome.
Tim & Terry Stover are going to be great guys to work with and I'm very excited about our future projects together. Meeting you all was the rejuvenating spark I've been missing from my peers. I appreciated everyones input and really enjoyed all the inspiring conversation. Can't wait to get together again yall!
I'm a better person after meeting you all. Everyone take care! You'll be hearing from me again soon on the Sanctuary. Bye everybody! |

Hello everyone, I just signed up and I was able to attend Saturday's Indie Meet. I think I might've gained a few pounds after those cookies... they were goood!
Thanks again everyone for the hospitality and it was great meeting all the awesome people. It was also great to get our first film shown and get some feedback from others who have not been involved. We are honored to have had the opportunity. Hope to chat with you more often now that I've signed up here...

Welcome Ken,
It's always wonderful to see new members come aboard.
I'd like to say thank you to everyone whom attended the Indiemeet.
It was a fantastic experience to finally meet you all in person. I honestly did not want to leave...
Bee, it was a pleasure speaking with you. Richard, we will catch more next time, I promise. Tiffany, I think I love you... Heather, you and your boyfriend are good people... The Stovers - I appreciate all the kick ass, in depth conversation. Everybody - Thank you for your input and compliments.
Mike and Sheila were the best hosts any filmmaker could dream of. I've spoken with Mike over the phone several times before meeting him and he had me in stitches but the guy is even funnier in person!
Many thanks to the Conways for putting on such a an awesome event! God bless! |
