Mike,
Have you ever thought about taping some of these demos for those of us that want to see them.

Actually, Richard McClure taped last year's demos. I have the tapes, but Sheila was clanking dishes right next to the camera, so the audio from 25' away from the subject is pretty much room noise. I do plan on going through the tapes again, so I can get a montage out of it.

This year, we'll just have to get the cameras closer, because it looks like there will be some great demos.

Wow Mike!
I'd love a copy of both tapes. Even with the lack of good audio I think I could learn a lot from those demos. (A great culinary artist like Sheila has to make noise to produce her masterpieces.)
Let me know if I could get one and how much I can send you to cover the cost.
Thanks
Scott

Um, Scott... There's about 9 hours of tapes to go through.

LW - ummm... maybe they'll have some posters for sale?
but yeah, very cool poster.

Dang, I hope you can make it, Rich. You're not the only one - a few people like Tiffany and Mario really want to go, but can't make it.

It is looking to be the best attended Meet, unless the weather doesn't cooperate. The newest guest is the 7' tall, Alien Warrior Comedian, from The Last Comic Standing! This guy is a big TERRARIUM fan and he is going to perform right after the EXILE showing, on Friday. Trust me, he's hilarious.

A seven foot comedic alien...

Now there's nothing stopping me from going. Absolutely nothing.

Mike,

Shoot me an email at CCF@PollyStaffle.com with you contact info and such...

I have a guest that wants to give a presentation is starting a distribution company and has a site launching in June that will be very useful for all in the indie scene.

I'll give you details, give you her info and pass yours along.

By the way, do you have a time schedule for the presentations yet?

Email sent. Your friend talking about Distribution would be good.

Presentations are Saturday, from 1pm - 7:30pm. I need about a 2 hour block for the scene that will be shot and edited. Probably around 2 - 4pm. Otherwise, it's really up to who else wants to present. If you know people that want to present at a certain time - early afternoon or late, I'm taking requests. Honestly, there is plenty of room, at the moment.

Aside from the "Scene", my friend Jake is showing a compressed air, blood cannon. Your zombie makeup artist needs about 30 minutes to do a deep knife wound, correct? I think it was Langley who wants to do a Stop Motion demo. Not sure the length of that. Langley also knows 2 guys who want to discuss topics (3-D filmmaking, etc.) but they may or may not be there.

Tupically, I keep several possible presentations reserved. If I need to fill in, I will bring out the synthesizers, cameras and guns. I also want to do a camera mount demo, on bicycle handlebars. The results yield some cool shots.

I prefer more "show" and less "idle talk", if possible. When people talk, I would like it to be very informative, like the distribution subject your friend will cover. Mario's silicone demo was one of the best, because you saw it happen and you saw all the cool creature props. In that vein, I think the zombie girl gore gash will be cool, as will the Scene creation.

All the movie posters look fantastic! Sorry I've been lacking in my Sanctuary comments, but I will definitely be there! Looking forward to meeting all you guys!

Best,

Garo

INDIEMEET 2010

In a few days, there will be a formal post started for the 2010 IndieMeet. I figured that posting on this one would send out quite a few email notifications to people who have been away from this forum, like myself. I apologize!

Add "vegasindiemeet" to your Facebook. Don't click it, rather Copy and Paste the entire url:

In a nutshell:

I've been rounding up some cool movies, like DEATH PLANET, SPACE BUGS, THE CRIMPS and some that are pretty scary.

There will be a comedian and it's looking like a good number of people from out of town. I was surprised when I asked 2 different Oregon filmmakers if they would like to come and present their movies and they said, "yes."

More, later!
